Siyalungisa Occupational Hygiene Services (Pty) Ltd is a SANAS ISO/IEC 17020 accredited Occupational Hygiene Inspection Body providing occupational hygiene, asbestos inspection, environmental monitoring and consulting services across South Africa. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Occupational Hygiene Assistant to join our growing technical team.

Minimum Requirements

* National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health or a related discipline.
* Minimum of one (1) year practical experience in Occupational Hygiene.
* Registration with SAIOH as an Occupational Hygiene Assistant.
* Valid South African driver's licence.
* Own reliable vehicle is essential.
* Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods.
* Medically fit to enter mining, industrial and construction environments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
* Excellent communication, organisational and report-writing skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct occupational hygiene surveys and workplace exposure assessments.
* Perform personal and area sampling for occupational health hazards.
* Operate, calibrate and maintain occupational hygiene monitoring equipment.
* Collect accurate field measurements and maintain survey documentation.
* Assist with technical reports and recommendations.
* Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and SANAS requirements.
* Comply with all client health, safety and environmental requirements.
* Represent the company professionally during client engagements.

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous:

* Occupational noise surveys
* Thermal stress assessments
* Illumination surveys
* Indoor air quality assessments
* Ventilation assessments
* Airborne contaminant sampling
* Hand-arm and whole-body vibration assessments
* Ergonomic assessments
* Mining and heavy industrial environments
